Lumia 950 battery drains rapidly

My Lumia 950 was at 95% battery today.  I had it in my pocket for 2 hours and didn't take it out once or use it in any ways.  After 2 hours I pulled my phone out and it was at 72% and it felt very hot.  Is this the experience others are having with their Lumia 950 or does this sound like I may have a defective phone and/or battery?

    Couple things to check.

First, poor network (cellular) connection? That kills battery regardless of phone or os!

Another possibility is that your music app, or photos app, is syncing a bunch of content in the background from music pass or OneDrive, etc. So open up those respective apps and look in the downloads and see if they are syncing any content. Also just apps/downloads as well for background content.

You can go to wifi settings or battery settings and see what app is really using battery or network, to also try and figure out what is going on.

Settings/System/Battery/ (text that says battery usage)

    Settings/Network&Wireless/DataUsage/(text that says usage details)

I have the same issues. Edge was initially consuming a ton of battery, so I all but deleted it from my phone (closed all tabs, prevent it from running in the background, etc). Since then the Battery Saver shows the Display eating up more than 50% of the battery. This is a little suspect since I'm not using it, and it's not exactly blowing up with texts or emails. I'm in excellent reception. No rapid syncing or anything like that...

I'm having the same issue. Not using my phone any different than previous windows phone. The 950 is dead in 5 hours compared to only 50% for 16 hours of use. Also gets hot
