Lumia 950 battery drains rapidly

My Lumia 950 was at 95% battery today.  I had it in my pocket for 2 hours and didn't take it out once or use it in any ways.  After 2 hours I pulled my phone out and it was at 72% and it felt very hot.  Is this the experience others are having with their Lumia 950 or does this sound like I may have a defective phone and/or battery?

Yeah, I've been having this issue as well. At first, I thought that this was just the transition from my monster 1520 to the 950, but its heartening to know that I'm not alone on this.

I've also had the heat issues mentioned, bot during charging and general use. It gets so bad that, while only watching videos, the phone will crash and restart. This happened four times to me today. This was not an issue in either my 1520, or my old 700(?).

Dunno if the usb 3.1 standard is to blame, but I would rather have a slow charge that lasted the day than have to carry around an external battery pack to classes with me.

Well, 40% left after 9 hours doesn't sound too great. After 19 hours, maybe. Previous Lumias I have owned could go for days without charging if I didn't read/browse a lot while commuting.

Today, again after very light use, I am still surprised to see that the screen accounts for 60% of the power drain. Is it Glance, although the phone has mostly been in my pocket? Is the LED backlight really that expensive? Does the screen statistic include GPU, and does that in turn mean that it is running even if the screen is switched off (which would indicate some kind of software error)?

I hope that someone is hard at work on this problem, because right now the phone won't last me through the day if I use it a bit more heavily (which has never been a problem before).

Same story here but, yesterday I did a full factory reset and new installation. Today after normal use now (9 hrs) 40% left. In the morning still lightly warm. Used phone, bluetooth, wifi, location services, navigation (1.5 hrs). So sounds normal. Keep you posted. Fingers crossed. I was ready to sent it back.. Hopefully not because functionall use is great.

This is pretty much my same story...  as of a few days ago the phone began frequently telling me I am almost out of storage although I barely have anything on there and the bulk of the measly storage that is being used is "system files.  Before I got this message the battery would last for days.  Now I can make it four hours if I am lucky and that is with very minimal use (a text or two...  checking email once etc).  When I take it off the charger at 100% within 30 mins it is down to 80%...  with no use.  It's crazy...  Oh, and yes, since this issue started it is always a little warm.  I don't have anything running in the background.  I don't have any added apps.  When I check my battery usage it says it is almost all system and over 50% display...  but hello the display isn't even on (I don't use glance).  It's driving me crazy and makes the phone almost useless.  It is also taking way longer to charge and will continue to drop battery if I try and use it while it is plugged in.  I have tried restarting, taking the battery out, etc...  and of course all the stupid battery saver tips with no improvement what-so-ever.

I think you're right, I had all the options On and it was working just fine for several weeks and then yesterday it suddenly started draining so fast.
