Battery drain while in sleep mode (Windows 10)

I don't think that is normal. We are talking about excessive battery drainage...I also have a Macbook pro - when that one is in sleep mode it barely drains any battery - unless I leave it in sleep mode for a week. Here we are talking about a battery drainage from 100% to 0% in 6 hours...that's more than when I am actually in full working mode on the computer.

Also, the problem does not occur when I have not previously had the laptop connected to a projector via HDMI...so clearly, the issue is linked somehow to connectivity with something that is not there anymore.

I appreciate your attempt at helping...but did you actually look at the screenshot showing the sleep study report?

Okay, that is very excessive battery drain in Sleep Mode, that is not normal

Download the Surface Diagnostics toolkit from the Microsoft Store and run that, then test if the problem persists.

My laptop seems to drain about 40-50% battery overnight on sleep some days.

The sleep study reports of my laptop are attached below. The first image is of when the battery got drained and the second image is of the day when it didn't.

I'm not able to figure out what is actually causing the issue.Pls look into the images and provide a fix to this issue.

Does the same thing happen in Hibernate or Shut Down?

Here's how to enable Hibernation which is a deeper sleep which actually powers off after writing the RAM to Hiberfile, then when you power on it loads Hiberfile so everything is where you left it, and it starts much faster:

Run the Power Troubleshooter from Windows Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional Troubleshooters.

Check the manufacturer's Support web page for your full model number to see if there is a battery issue or recall for it. Remember you have a full one year warranty for PC and parts replacement or repair so I'd use it if still available.

Right click Start to open Device Manager, under Battery choose the battery device, then Driver tab, then if available Roll Back the driver. If not available, choose Uninstall Driver, restart PC to reinstall.

If nothing else helps then you might need to replace the battery or the charger.. However I will tell you that most OEM after-market batteries and chargers have problems so I would only buy the official manufacturer's battery from the PC maker to be sure. Another option is to take it to a shop where they will plug in the Universal charger to help determine for sure which one works and should take it back if it doesn't.

I have Huawei matebook book 14 i7 for 2 months now

The laptop battery generally is draining more rapidly than it was before I could estimate that the battery drains after 6 hours only of activity (with no video playback) and it used to last longer than that, also the battery estimates gives me much lower readings than before (gives a reading of maximum 5 hours on better battery settings).. This lap top is known for long battery life

Also, I have noticed the battery dropped 2 % during shutdown.

after performing a sleep study.. the draining was during sleep, the more consumption was SoC subsystems NoHwDrips.C10.unknown, second to it Maintenance phase offenders (PDC Task Clients --> Maintence Scheduler) ...

I have noticed this change last 2 weeks

I should note that the recent change I did was adding a hibernate button 1 month ago, used it probably twice willingly, probably could have been used more times automatically after prolonged sleep

I should note also that I follow a charging pattern of I charge when battery reaches 20%, and unplug when it reaches 80% (I understood this is best practice), with total so far 23 battery cycle
