Battery drain while in sleep mode (Windows 10)

Hello

I have an Asus GL551. It original had Windows 8.1 on it but I upgraded to Windows 10 a few months ago. Ever since it has been running Windows 10 the battery will drain completely within 10-12 hours while in sleep mode. When it had Windows 8.1 this was not an issue. There would still be plenty of battery power even after a few days of not being used and in sleep mode.

I suspect that is is coming out of sleep mode periodically and draining the battery. Just the other day I had been watching a YouTube video. When It finished I closed the lid of the laptop putting it to sleep. About two hours later, with the lid closed the laptop started playing the Youtube video all by itself. I had not touched the computer and the lid was still closed.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Kevin

my drivers are updated, and when I work with the laptop, the battery is just fine.

my power consumption options are optimal.

I have an older thinkpad e330 laptop with the same power settings, and it can stay for days in sleep mode when I close the lid. but with this ux480 when I close the lid for the night, in the morning the battery is drained.

is there a specific solution for this problem?? because it will shorten the battery life significantly, and that's a shame.

    please help

I had the exact same issue with my Asus Vivobook S512F of late 2019. It was driving me nuts but i found the culprit.

One of ASUS own apps 'MyAsus' prevents the computer to go to sleep properly and thus drains your battery.

Remove MyAsus, reboot and problem solved.

ps. If you still have issues, do an energyscan via admin command prompt or powershell with command "powercfg -ENERGY". It will give you a report and list problems that prevent your laptop to go to sleep.

This is really putting me at my wits end! I'm not sure what's going on... I've checked the battery and it's functioning normally even took it to a local computer shop he said it's not the battery most likely. I disabled all the apps that can run in the background or come on during sleep... I'm confused what my issue is. The laptop is a dell inspiron 15 running windows 10. When I wake up in the morning to use it I press the power button and it just makes the noise as if it's turning itself off (which it does) I plug it in and it starts up fine... with 2% battery. I tried hibernation mode last night and still did the same thing so I'm desperate for a fix if anyone can help me solve this issue I'd appreciate it.
