Battery drain while in sleep mode (Windows 10)

Hello

I have an Asus GL551. It original had Windows 8.1 on it but I upgraded to Windows 10 a few months ago. Ever since it has been running Windows 10 the battery will drain completely within 10-12 hours while in sleep mode. When it had Windows 8.1 this was not an issue. There would still be plenty of battery power even after a few days of not being used and in sleep mode. 

I suspect that is is coming out of sleep mode periodically and draining the battery. Just the other day I had been watching a YouTube video. When It finished I closed the lid of the laptop putting it to sleep. About two hours later, with the lid closed the laptop started playing the Youtube video all by itself. I had not touched the computer and the lid was still closed.

Any ideas?

    For me it was the drivers, I just did a clean install. Some drivers aren't compatible.

    As the issue still persists, I suggest you to try creating a new power plan and check if it helps

    Thanks for the reply. I did what you asked and it said the minimum processor state was set to high and the display brightness setting was set to high. Could the minimum processor state being set to high be the problem??

    We understand the inconvenience caused and we will try our best to resolve the issue.

    This issue might occur if some of the power setting got corrupted.

    I suggest you to run the Power troubleshooter and check if it resolves the issue. 

    Follow the below steps:

    1) Press Windows + X keys on the keyboard and select Control Panel.

    2) Type Troubleshooting in the search bar on the Control Panel.

    3) Click on View allon the left navigation pane. Click on Power.

    4) Click on Advanced on the power troubleshooter dialog box and click on Run as administrator (Enter the credentials if required).

    5) Click on Next and follow onscreen instruction complete the Power troubleshooter.

    This is my second Surface - the first was replaced because of battery issues but this one is just as bad.  If I leave it unplugged ad in sleep mode it drains the battery.  I've looked on line and it seems like EVERYONE is having this problem.  Isn't there a fix Microsoft??
