I have an Asus GL551. It original had Windows 8.1 on it but I upgraded to Windows 10 a few months ago. Ever since it has been running Windows 10 the battery will drain completely within 10-12 hours while in sleep mode. When it had Windows 8.1 this was not an issue. There would still be plenty of battery power even after a few days of not being used and in sleep mode.
I suspect that is is coming out of sleep mode periodically and draining the battery. Just the other day I had been watching a YouTube video. When It finished I closed the lid of the laptop putting it to sleep. About two hours later, with the lid closed the laptop started playing the Youtube video all by itself. I had not touched the computer and the lid was still closed.
Any ideas?

Hi in the last 2 days/nights my Laptop battery has completely discharged overnight when in Sleep mode. From 100% to 0% in 7 hours.
Laptop is Acer Swift 3.
Maybe coincidence but this has only happened since latest Windows Update KB4512508
What to do ?

Thank you for sharing this to us. Let's try to perform clean boot and check if the issue persists. This is done to start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. Also, it helps eliminate software conflicts of an update or when you run a program in Windows. Check this article and look for the steps on how to perform a clean boot. Remember to choose the operating system that you're using.

Hi,
I have an Asus UX430U and it's draining the battery when in sleep mode.
The cpu is running when in sleep mode. I suppose it should not happen.
The laptop is getting really hot and the whole battery goes off in around 1 hour in sleep mode.

But remember that Factory or Upgrade installs are inferior installs which most enthusiasts won't even run because they'd expect endless issues. Hi Greg, I've tried that and even got my motherboard replaced, but doesn't seem to have resolved the issue. They say it's a windows related issue, the hardware is fine. Is there anything else I can try?
