Hello
I have an Asus GL551. It original had Windows 8.1 on it but I upgraded to Windows 10 a few months ago. Ever since it has been running Windows 10 the battery will drain completely within 10-12 hours while in sleep mode. When it had Windows 8.1 this was not an issue. There would still be plenty of battery power even after a few days of not being used and in sleep mode.
I suspect that is is coming out of sleep mode periodically and draining the battery. Just the other day I had been watching a YouTube video. When It finished I closed the lid of the laptop putting it to sleep. About two hours later, with the lid closed the laptop started playing the Youtube video all by itself. I had not touched the computer and the lid was still closed.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Kevin

I have been putting my laptop to sleep everything night and my battery level the next morning is typically the same as the night before. However, ever since installing Windows 10, I have noticed that my battery levels are low the next morning. My laptop even goes into hibernation during the night. This did not happen before when I was running Windows 8. So, what can I do about this?
Thank you for your response.
The power option indicated that my screen time before it went to sleep was too long. This has no relevance to my current problem.
The system maintenance indicated on no issues present.
Any suggestion?
Btw, for some reason the search bar is not working properly, and I found the troubleshooting in control panel. In addition, I'm having a problem with runtime broker using a lot of system resources. Not sure if these issues affect each other and the battery drain while on sleep mode.
I must admit that the upgrade to win 10 on both my tablet and laptop was not a pleasant experience, and still isn't ...
Best,
Hi, I'm not sure it is a problem with the battery.
I forgot to mention this but every time I wake my computer up, the next day the taskbar is frozen and I can't open much on the computer besides the task manager. One time I tried logging off and on after waking the laptop up but the taskbar remained frozen and I got an error message saying that the search bar and cortana experienced an error and that I needed to restart the pc to resolve the problem (if I can recall the message correctly). So, I have been forced to restart my laptop after waking it up for a while now.
Hello,
since the update to Windows 10 i noticed that when i put my laptop in the sleep mode with a full charged battery at night, the battery will be around 2% the next morning.
How can i fix this?
Thanks!
