Stability Issues with the Windows Live Mail 2012 Update – KB3093594

For all of those that are tech unsavy, I have found a fix to this problem. I found a website that does IT online.

For those who are only experiencing a mail syncing problem, tech support told me to delete my account and gave me instructions on how to re-add it using the IMAP setting. If you know how to do that, then I would definitely try it. But if you still need help or don't know how, I have incluced the web address for the IT website that I used. I am astounded by the negativity and technical complications I am reading. I am completely non-technical. I had the same problem like everyone else after downloading the patch back in December. I figured out what to do. It was not too difficult to fix. I did not consult an IT consultant. My WLM is working without a hitch, except, the small issue of missing info in the Sent folder under Account, an insignificant issue under the present circumstances. I see that other members independently similarly figured the practical solutions as I did. It is clear that WLM has low priority for MS, so stop harassing them and at least appreciate that they did not discontinue WLM like they initially announced they would. WLM is a powerful email client and I am happy to be able to be working with it on a daily basis. Reading through past posts by various members shows practical solutions to making WLM work again.

Sorry, but I'm probably a bit dense. Are you saying that repairing the installation didn't restore the versions of the DLLs that Windows Essentials needs?

Repair is a more far-reaching operation that re-installing, because (I think) the repair function conducts a version check, while re-install only checks for presence or absence of the required files.

There are plenty of users who have reported that repair fixed the missing msvcr110.dll error, if not the others (which are much rarer).

C++ files, 2010, 2012 and 2015 was the order plus reboots when prompted probably help but miss files necessary.

Search Microsoft for C++ redistributable and do both 32 bit (and 64bit when applicable). These are MS files not vendor files and it seems that updates in win 10 os may not restore them as described. Perhaps the WLM patch is no good no matter which date. It continues still in new Win10 builds which you may not be getting yet.

They remain in the backup but never get restored in new build. Perhaps the patch removes them or some other glitch MS cannot figure out.

After copying these files (or any others that might complain) & run the repair.

I can reproduce a fix upon each new build but hey call MS support or an IT troubleshouter with more than 23 years Windows OS experience...

The Visual C Runtime files are installed with Windows Essentials, so a repair of the installation may correct the fault. This sort of error is quite frequent - programs bring a VC runtime along and install it, instead of checking whether it was installed already. So it's possible to have a different version from the one Windows Essentials needs, and an error is thrown.

A repair should check that all the files the program needs are present and correct and properly registered where necessary. To do this, close all running programs, then press Windows key  + R, type wlarp and press Enter. In the window that opens, select Repair all Windows Essentials programs:

When it's finished, reboot the computer and try launching Windows Live Mail.
