How to Install The Sims 2 + Expansions on Windows 10 (TS2upd.exe Error)

The Sims 2 is an old program that causes/d issues for many, I thought I would share my experience of getting past "The Sims 2 Update Error" when installing expansions.

You will need this file, so download it now: http://www.mediafire.com/download/lzbxtj51r6b6e6r/TS2\_update.zip

  1. Install the Sims 2 normally from disc
  2. Copy the files from inside the downloaded zip and folder to "c:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\The Sims 2" and confirm to override the files already there. This will make the program not need to update anymore!
  3. Install expansion packs in no particular order
  4. Enjoy playing the Sims 2!

  2. Copy the files from inside the downloaded zip and folder to "c:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2" and confirm to override the files already there. This will
  3. Install expansion packs in no particular order, making sure they are in "Program Files"!
  4. Enjoy playing the Sims 2!

    Thank you so much for this! I almost went out to buy a Windows 7 pack to overwrite Windows 10. I did this and just installed Pet Expansion Pack smoothly and quickly, so it seems already to be working just fine. Hopefully it'll continue to do so. True life saving. Thank you!!

    I wonder why people still playing The Sims 2 when there's already The Sims 4 outhere? With a better graphic of course, and i believe that they support Windows 10. I'm just asking? Anyone want to answer this?

    Because, quite simply, game play wise, TS2 is FAR superior! I have TS4 and better graphics really is all has going for it, in every other way it is less - FAR less. It's more natural, too - it has weather and seasons, which TS4 doesn't,  they can use drawers; in every single possible way, gameplay wise, it's just better. 

    TS4 is horribly buggy - that said my ideal Sims game would be a merger of 2 and 4. I like the fact we've laundry options now, and each sim can have five outfits of each type, but there's really nothing going for it gameplay wise, I'm bored of it now. This is why I'm desperately looking for TS2 downloads because my laptop doesn't have a media drive. 

    I'm DESPERATE to play TS2 again!
