How to Install The Sims 2 + Expansions on Windows 10 (TS2upd.exe Error)

The Sims 2 is an old program that causes/d issues for many, I thought I would share my experience of getting past "The Sims 2 Update Error" when installing expansions.

You will need this file, so download it now: http://www.mediafire.com/download/lzbxtj51r6b6e6r/TS2\_update.zip

  1. Install the Sims 2 normally from disc
  2. Copy the files from inside the downloaded zip and folder to "c:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\The Sims 2" and confirm to override the files already there. This will make the program not need to update anymore!
  3. Install expansion packs in no particular order
  4. Enjoy playing the Sims 2!

  2. Copy the files from inside the downloaded zip and folder to "c:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2" and confirm to override the files already there. This will
  3. Install expansion packs in no particular order, making sure they are in "Program Files"!
  4. Enjoy playing the Sims 2!

    Thank you so, so much for this! The one thing I didn't like about Windows 10 was that I couldn't install or play the Sims 2...now I can! You're a star!

    A while ago i used this to help me install the game, which was quite useful, but i left all the expansion packs and stuff packs alone cus i am missing a few expansions (like nightlife which is annoying cus i always had that on my double deluxe) anyway my problem is yesterday i installed a bunch of my stuff packs and when i tried to launch sims using the gàmè disc  it wanted mè to insert the ikea home stuff dîsc, añd when i inserted the ikea disc it said to indert the corect disc whatever that meàns, and tô màke sure it wasn't cus the last dîsc i installed was the ikea one, i installed the university expansion, but it still wanted the ikea disc, anf when i tried uninstalling the ikea stuff pack but it still wanted the ikea dîsç, what should i do to fix  it?

    Hi, 

    i followed the instructions but it is now asking me for the teen disc which i don't have. Does this only work if I have teen style disc?
