How to Install The Sims 2 + Expansions on Windows 10 (TS2upd.exe Error)

The Sims 2 is an old program that causes/d issues for many, I thought I would share my experience of getting past "The Sims 2 Update Error" when installing expansions.

You will need this file, so download it now: http://www.mediafire.com/download/lzbxtj51r6b6e6r/TS2\_update.zip

  1. Install the Sims 2 normally from disc
  2. Copy the files from inside the downloaded zip and folder to "c:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\The Sims 2" and confirm to override the files already there. This will make the program not need to update anymore!
  3. Install expansion packs in no particular order
  4. Enjoy playing the Sims 2!

  2. Copy the files from inside the downloaded zip and folder to "c:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2" and confirm to override the files already there. This will
  3. Install expansion packs in no particular order, making sure they are in "Program Files"!
  4. Enjoy playing the Sims 2!

    A window should pop up asking if you want to replace /over ride the files. Click yes to replace the old files when prompted.

    I wonder why people still playing The Sims 2 when there's already The Sims 4 outhere? With a better graphic of course, and i believe that they support Windows 10. I'm just asking? Anyone want to answer this?

    Hello, I installed The Sims 2 this way on one of my computers a while back. Now I'm trying to do it on my laptop and the game just won't run... I can't even play just the normal sims 2 without any expantion packs... It shuts down and a message is coming up that the game stopped working and the computer will look for a reason why and then it says it can't find the problem. Any suggestions on what I can do?
