The Sims 2 is an old program that causes/d issues for many, I thought I would share my experience of getting past "The Sims 2 Update Error" when installing expansions. You will need this file, so download it now: http://www.mediafire.com/download/lzbxtj51r6b6e6r/TS2\_update.zip Install the Sims 2 normally from disc Copy the files from inside the downloaded zip and folder to "c:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\The Sims 2" and confirm to override the files already there. Me too. So annoying it makes me wish I didn't update. The only reason I even did the update was because my sims was crashing so I was gonna restart my computer.

I have the IKEA disk. What I learned was it's just a stuff pack, that you have to use the working game disk that you installed last before it. In my case it was Bon Voyage until the latest problem cropped up.

Thanks to Win10 new BS all I get when I play is "this application is not compatible with the installed operating system. Please upgrade to Windows 98SE, Windows 2000 or better." Ugh.
