How to Install The Sims 2 + Expansions on Windows 10 (TS2upd.exe Error)

The Sims 2 is an old program that causes/d issues for many, I thought I would share my experience of getting past "The Sims 2 Update Error" when installing expansions.

You will need this file, so download it now: http://www.mediafire.com/download/lzbxtj51r6b6e6r/TS2\_update.zip

  1. Install the Sims 2 normally from disc
  2. Copy the files from inside the downloaded zip and folder to "c:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\The Sims 2" and confirm to override the files already there. This will make the program not need to update anymore!
  3. Install expansion packs in no particular order
  4. Enjoy playing the Sims 2!

  2. Copy the files from inside the downloaded zip and folder to "c:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2" and confirm to override the files already there. This will
  3. Install expansion packs in no particular order, making sure they are in "Program Files"!
  4. Enjoy playing the Sims 2!

    Thank-you for your help, Followed your instructions and now I am a happy Sims2 player again, It was heart breaking to have all my Sims2 expansion packs there and not to be able to install them, Microsoft 10 was installed by necessity, Not by choice, Thank-you again, Have a great day and stay safe. :~)

    ps please everyone backup your computer files, I had a hard drive crash and lost 10 years of work, 380 gb and thousands of dollars in programs and Data, I now save things on USB sticks, Happy gaming to you all, Love from Andrea. ;~)

    Huh, i guess i could try it, though the game never let me get into a family to save it, it always crashed as it was loading. :/
