Windows Live Mail and Calendars

This fix caused Windows Live Mail to bomb.  I had to reinstall the problem to get it working again, with the Outlook.com error, of course.

After clicking "Stop signing in", clicking on Send/Receive no longer causes the crash; it appears to do nothing unless an email account is specifically selected via the drop-down.

We changed a few settings early on, so you'll have to change them back again to restore the email functionality you had before. Revisit steps 3, 4 and 5 under Phase I in my reply to Joe a couple of days ago and reverse the changes you made then.

I don't think you'll see the crash again after you clicked Stop signing in- that's the one that prevents the calendar from trying to synchronize.

I am having the same issue with Windows Live Mail not connecting with the Outlook.com (preview).

I have been told that an upgrade for Windows Live Mail is coming sometime in the future.  I am skeptical about that.

Where did you learn about that?

Any solution will depend on what your problem is; the more details you give, the easier it will be to help you. If you see error messages, please quote them verbatim. We also need to know which version of the program you're using on which operating system.

Oh, of course. Duh. Including the account again makes everything normal, except, of course, syncing the calendar and contacts.

In my case I am running Windows 10 and use Live Mail as my main e-mail which draws from Verizon and G-mail for 4 email accounts. My only issue was the sync message every time I open Live. I installed the fix and Live stopped woking. I deleted Live using Control Panel>Programs>Delete and the reloaded Essentials. Live then worked like before and still get non sync message.

What I can't understand is how a company as big as Microsoft can make whatever change they made and have absolutely no idea of the ramifications and what's worse no idea how to fix this quickly.

I use Apple for calendar and phones and only use pc for internet searching and e-mail when home. Something like this certainly makes me think about going totally to Apple next time looking for Desktop!
