Windows Live Mail and Calendars

Windows 10

Started today 11/20/2015 whenever I access Windows Live Mail (2012)  I get an error message 'There was an error when attempting to connect to the Windows Live Calendar service, check to see if there's an upgrade of Windows Live Mail available or contact a service representative.  I saw a reply for this problem dated 12/2014 but it did not address this problem in Win 10.  Please advise.  The PC was a Win 8.1 before the upgrade.

    You have to do the fix yourself, assuming you have Windows Live Mail 2012. To check, in Windows Live Mail press Alt-F B. If your version is not 2012, you must upgrade first using the appropriate link on this page: Windows Essentials download options. Then:

    1. Visit this page and download the patch: Update for Windows Live Essentials Mail 2012 (KB3093594). Save the file d-Mail.msp on your desktop.
    2. Close all running programs, then double-click on the desktop file to run it.

    No "Outlook Mail (Preview). So looks like I haven't received the upgrade.

    OK, so you have a different problem. Please use the Ask a question option on the Participate menu to start your own thread about it. Give as many details as you can of what happens, including the full error message and what you were doing when you saw it.

    Please say also whether you have the same Microsoft Account set up as a mail account in Windows Live Mail. If you do, it will appear in the folder pane of your mail window (press Ctrl-1 or click the first, Mail icon at the foot of the folder pane). Right-click on the account name in the folder pane and select Properties. At the top of the Server(s) tab, you'll see the type of account - HTTP, IMAP or POP3. Please give this also in your reply.
