Windows Live Mail and Calendars

Windows 10

Started today 11/20/2015 whenever I access Windows Live Mail (2012)  I get an error message 'There was an error when attempting to connect to the Windows Live Calendar service, check to see if there's an upgrade of Windows Live Mail available or contact a service representative.  I saw a reply for this problem dated 12/2014 but it did not address this problem in Win 10.  Please advise.  The PC was a Win 8.1 before the upgrade.

    I have the same problem and the same error message reported by Bruce. I am trying to use the Windows Live Mail application running in Windows 10. I have a Windows Live account and I am able to use the Windows Live Mail application as a client that sends and receives emails both from that account and from a gmail account.  However, Windows Live Mail does not enable me to get at either my Calendar nor my contacts (stored in the built-in "People" app).   I tried the Repair all Windows Essential programs steps suggested above but they had no affect.

    I would not be trying to use the Windows Live Mail application if the built-in Windows 10 "Mail" application did not constantly crash on my Windows 10 PC (this seems to have been reported by many other Microsoft users but I have not seen any explanation or solution by anyone from Microsoft yet).

    Followed directions but when Live mail is activated Calendar service not connected and same message appears. The calendar events do not update and thus the error message. The Email side works fine.

    I'm having the same problem. Started today. I did as Nichappa C K said "Repair all Windows..." and still get the error message.

    I suggest you to follow the below steps to uninstall the windows live mail and check if the helps.

    1. Click Windows **Start.**2. Go to **Control Panel.**3. Click on **Uninstall a program.**4. Double click on **Windows Essentials.**5. Select **Repair all Windows Essential programs.**6. Restart your computer to update the changes.
