Universal mobile keyboard won't work

The keyboard works fine while plugged in charging but as soon as it is unplugged to actually be mobile, like its name would suggest, it won't turn on. Even manually using the power/pair button on the side doesn't work. Am I missing something or does it sound like it's definitely broken?

    After it was charged, Turn it on and off, with the lid or the button?

    Both way doesn't turn on after charged. It worked only when it was connected to a charging port.

    Search high and low. No reply from microsoft. I asked help from Challenger who only asked me to register my product and get a number. They said Microsoft will send a replacement. Then on the website after register, they will send confirmation within 5 days. So i waited. Til now, its more than 10days already.. I think this is a common product defect from microsoft. People has been complaining. You can check Amazon for review about it.
