Universal mobile keyboard won't work

Thanks for your tip. I went to the store with my credit card statement. I also happened to have the purchase registered in a loyalty programme of the store.

They cannot give me a refund, but I will have it swapped or serviced.

If you bought it in Europe consumer law is very strong, so as long as you can produce a proof of purchase (a credit card statement often counts) then you should be able to return it as faulty.

If you are in the US the law is less helpful, but customer service is often better, so I would try your luck.

Either way, yes you have bought a piece of junk and Microsoft seems disinclined to care. However, if you register it with them there should be able to get it swapped at least, although that isn't a great long-term solution as they all appear to develop this fault eventually.

I bought mine yesterday while staying at a hotel. It worked fine while on the charger so I threw the box and the receipt away only to realise today that I am also affected by the same issue. Does this mean that I am now left with a brand new piece of equipment which is useless and I can do nothing about it?
