Universal mobile keyboard won't work

The keyboard works fine while plugged in charging but as soon as it is unplugged to actually be mobile, like its name would suggest, it won't turn on. Even manually using the power/pair button on the side doesn't work. Am I missing something or does it sound like it's definitely broken?

    Good idea.  I just happen to have this one.. haven't really tested to see how long it can go, but I would think a long time.. it's not like its being used to play music or stream video.. plus how big could the battery be that's in the keyboard compared to an external one right? So, I'm gonna guess it can go much longer than originally.  But ya, something a little sleeker would be good.

    That is one solution! I always keep a battery pack with me for the phone so this is a good solution :-)  I wonder how much power it consumes? If it doesn't consume much then one could purchase a small flat pack so it isn't so bulky.

    What a disappointment, I too received one of these defective units which doesn't charge/only works when plugged in.
