Universal mobile keyboard won't work

The keyboard works fine while plugged in charging but as soon as it is unplugged to actually be mobile, like its name would suggest, it won't turn on. Even manually using the power/pair button on the side doesn't work. Am I missing something or does it sound like it's definitely broken?

I bought mine yesterday and I'm having the same issue. Has anyone received a replacement for their purchase? I'll probably go to the store later with the warranty then update this.

I have the same problem. It works great when connected to a USB power source, but will not turn on otherwise. I charged it overnight.

I will probably take it to the Microsoft Store this weekend to see if it can be replaced.

It is disappointing that Microsoft doesn't back up their hardware. I purchased one of these as well. It worked well for a short while and not it won't work at all. I guess I will go back to my HP variant which still works.
