Designer Bluetooth Mouse Scroll Wheel Malfunction

I may be the only person on Earth with this problem, but the scroll wheel on the Designer Bluetooth Mouse stopped working, seemingly out of nowhere.  All other functionality of the mouse remains in good working order.  Perhaps I need to return it seeing as I've been using it for only a few months, but I figured I would check to see if there is a simple fix before pleading my case at the store.

    No because I don't have the proper types of glue. I'm just saying that if you happen to find a way to stick the axle and the socket together, it will work. I tried rotating the socket with a screw driver and scrolling worked.

    Hi there

    exactly the same problem here.

    I actually dismounted the mouse and then decided to find an asnwer as what I had in front of my eyes was such an aberation I couldn't believe it..

    Basically the end of the wheel axle is round and it is trying to spin an hexagonal socket which is quite unbelievable. I tried to digg everywhere if I was actually missing any part, in vain... anyway a kind of adaptor part wouldn't make any sense either as the axle is round.

    That basically means that Sheenuyou is be true and I think that this is how this superb looking designer mouse with very poor engineering is actually manufactured. They glue the axle in the socket.

    I am missing the glue to give it a go but will try to do asap and will then report.

    Waseemulla, are you still around? Anyway you could confirm this from mfg drawings?

    The glue worked for me although it has lost quite considerably in scrolling quality and I have obviously no idea how long this is going to last.

    Alternatively I have founf this solution which avoid glue and is probably better:

    That's good info from the link you posted (https://dompruitt.com/2008/11/24/fixing-the-scroll-wheel-on-the-microsoft-arc-mouse/). Just for curiosity I'll give the blue painter's tape a try at some point. If this problem has been around since 2008 it sure does seem that it should have been fixed LONG before now. My "permanent" solution to the problem was just to abandon Microsoft and go back to the tried and true Logitech, and to swear to never by a Microsoft Mouse ever again. (I sure do hope my Microsoft Surface keyboard doesn't go out....)

    same here. i felt something give way under the scroll wheel and then it started freewheeling. doesn't scroll any more. for such a seemingly well-designed item, this is really disappointing. it doesn't seem at all easy to get inside and poke around.
