Possible to watch movies I purchased on XBOX One on my Apple iPhone?

I have a media purchasing dilemma. I am trying to decide how I will purchase movies going forward.  I have an iPhone 6 Plus, but I love the idea of using my XBOX as a media center.  Is it possible to watch movies that I purchase from the Microsoft Store on my XBOX One on my iPhone? Is there a Microsoft player or app that will enable me to access my Microsoft purchased movies on my iPhone? Or will I be limited to watching it ONLY on my XBOX One?

If I'm limited to watching only on my XBOX One, then I won't use my XBOX as media center. I'll just get an Apple TV because I'd like to be able to take my purchased content with me everywhere.  Any help and insight will be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately, it's not yet possible as there is no Microsoft Movies & TV / Xbox Video app available for iOS or Android devices.

As you can see, this as been going on for YEARS now and basically Microsoft either doesn't give a rats ass about this or there is some legal issue they cant do it and they are not telling us. Bottom line, DONT buy movies frtom Microsoft as you will be

forced to watch it ONLY on PC and XBOX. So Microsoft, if you are listening PLEASE fix this!!!!!!

    Hello RRRize

Thank you for posting in the forum

yes is it possible to watch movies that you purchased from the Microsoft Store on your  XBOX One on your iPhone.

Just download the XBOX music app on your iPhone.

    Kind Regards,

    Michaela G.

WTF? You are saying to use a MUSIC app to watch MOVIES?!?!?!? Are you kidding me?

Yes. A little confused about that too. I have the Xbox app installed on my iPhone. When I go to the xbox app, I can go to my pins which includes the movies and tv app, but when I click on it, I get the movie and tv app icon. To the side of the icon, it states 'companion available'. When you click on it, it takes you to the store and allows you to play the a movie on your xbox one. That is not what I want to do. I want to play the movie or tv show that I purchased from Microsoft on my iPhone. Doesn't work.

If I go directly to the store and click on Movies & TV to install, it tells me I already have it installed on my xbox.

So there is no way to play movies through the xbox app on my iPhone.

We need a dedicated app that can be used on my iPhone, iPad, Amazon fire, android tablet, etc to play all the movies and tv shows I have purchased from the Microsoft/Windows Store. Without this option, I feel that I have made a big mistake purchasing these movies through Microsoft. I should have listened to my peers telling me to use Amazon to purchase all of my movies since I can watch them anywhere.

    So disappointed.

    :(

This is no different from what everyone else does, whether it's Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, or Google.  Your best bet is to buy from Google Play because it will show up in your youtube library so you can watch it on any device, including Linux distros.
