Update for Windows Live Essentials Mail 2012 (KB3093594) kills WLM 2012

Have been using this program for months now on windows 10 32 bit, and I get an email saying that MS are making changes to Outlook servers and to patch WLM 2012 and a download link.

I applied the patch and now after a few seconds of being open WLM 2012 crashes while updating the calendar.

Anyone know a fix for this? I have taken the patch off by repairing Windows essentials 2012 from the Programs and features dialog, but anyone know why this patch causes WLM to crash after a few seconds?

Tim

Have you checked your Sent box?  In mine Sent items since the update show the From address rather than the To address.  Reverted to the unpatched version and all is well so far

Having the same problem, I checked the integrated mail app in W10 and hurra ! it now manages multiple accounts properly.

Still not as easy to use as WLM, but enough for me : I migrate to W10 mail.

No kudos for MS this time, that mail was a HUGE failure, and a loss of time.

I have to say as someone who has used a hotmail account for YEARS this is very disappointing.  The Windows 10 Mail App really sucks.

You can't sync all you email accounts at once.  There isn't a contacts feature.  And the list goes on.

It's like Microsoft goes out of it's way to alienate users.  Remember the move to DeltaSync?

Does Microsoft understand there are many places where you can get a free email account?

Gmail provides IMAP or POP3 and so does AOL and they are far from alone.

I am getting sick of having to adapt to Microsoft's fickle nature.

I will start getting used to using Gmail I guess.

Microsoft why not WAKE up and start thinking about NOT PUSHING your users to your COMPETITORS!

And I was using hotmail since BEFORE Microsoft bought them!

Same things happened to me after I installed the patch and all the folders I created under my inbox are gone.  How did you revert to the unpatched version?  Did you unstall and then re-install WLM?
