If for some reason they don't fix the botched patch, I think I'll just remove hotmail from my list of email accounts in WLM and access it separately from the web.
Update for Windows Live Essentials Mail 2012 (KB3093594) kills WLM 2012
Have been using this program for months now on windows 10 32 bit, and I get an email saying that MS are making changes to Outlook servers and to patch WLM 2012 and a download link.
I applied the patch and now after a few seconds of being open WLM 2012 crashes while updating the calendar.
Anyone know a fix for this? I have taken the patch off by repairing Windows essentials 2012 from the Programs and features dialog, but anyone know why this patch causes WLM to crash after a few seconds?

2015-12-12T19:23:04+00:00 Windows 8 compatibility mode does not make any difference. The only workaround is not to sign in to update the calendar.
if you sign the calendar out on the toolbar wlm will no longer query the calendar for updates. But if you sign in and click remember me and sign me in automatically it will crash immediately.
Best option is to uncheck remember me and click forget me.

And then you don't have access to your contact list no more

2015-12-12T19:41:15+00:00 If it is not supported on Windows 10, why do they send the email to people they KNOW are using Windows 10?
From now on I will never, EVER, install anything I get from Microsoft until, MAYBE, after I have the problem it is supposed to fix.
