Update for Windows Live Essentials Mail 2012 (KB3093594) kills WLM 2012

Have been using this program for months now on windows 10 32 bit, and I get an email saying that MS are making changes to Outlook servers and to patch WLM 2012 and a download link.

I applied the patch and now after a few seconds of being open WLM 2012 crashes while updating the calendar.

Anyone know a fix for this? I have taken the patch off by repairing Windows essentials 2012 from the Programs and features dialog, but anyone know why this patch causes WLM to crash after a few seconds?

    Have you checked your Sent box?  In mine Sent items since the update show the From address rather than the To address.  Reverted to the unpatched version and all is well so far

    Hopefully you saved the .exe file when you originally installed Windows Essentials 2012. If you did, you could try searching for it on your computer. My file is called wlsetup-web.exe with a version number of 16.4.3528.331.

    If you haven't got it you could try Filehippo. They have a download for Windows Live Mail 16.4.3528.

    I understand that this is actually for all the Windows Essentials 2012 programs. You just select the programs you want (Windows Live Mail in this case) when you run the .exe.

    Right click - Run as administrator. As with all installations, it is recommended to temporarily suspend your security software while installing trusted software.

    I use WLM with 4 Hotmail accounts but I don't sign in on any of them - Calendar and Contacts are local.  The patch was applied on Windows 7 and Windows 10 and both work fine.

    I have just installed the KB3093594 update on a win 7 PC and it works fine.  As Microsoft say that it is only compatible with Win 7 and 8 perhaps they have deliberately engineered it to be incompatible with Windows 10, in which case the problem may never be fixed
