Junkware Removal Tool (JRT) by Malwarebytes

So, in research for a BHO remover for another poster here, I downloaded & ran Malwarebyte's JRT - just to see what it might offer. I thought I'd trust them. I do gratefully use their Anti-virus scanner on demand to supplement Defender, after all. And I've sworn to pay up should it ever catch a thing Defender missed.

To my shock, JRT found stuff & just went ahead & deleted them - w/o asking permission! Either it - or Windows - did make a restore point, however. Who can analyze this report & help decide whether I should revert? My own rerearch...

(1) PCDoctor appears to be part of Dell. But it won't be long before I attack lots of Dell stuff in here.

(2) That searchscopes entry was part of McAfee (I think), called Secure Search...

...but I've uninstalled McAfee. Now, Secure Search is gone, & BING is the default. (Honestly, I'm not sure it was actually still working.)

(3) The folder "pc drivers headquarters" was part of Driver Detective, which I did once try when still Win 8.1. It said it wanted to replace two - but I never pursued that.

I think I've talked myself into keeping the deletions - but does anyone disagree? Here's the report...

What is your computer? Mine is a Dell Inspiron 3542. Support Assist does a lot, & it once informed me of a BIOS update. I've kept that. But I've uninstalled Dell Update, in favor of manually comparing my driver versions to what is at the site. I've fully updated my drivers. But there were choices to make regarding Intel vrs. nVidia for graphics & 1704 vrs. 1705 for the WiFi/Bluetooth driver. All four were offered. To decide which to choose, look in Device Manager to see what you've got a lesser version of. Pending further research, I decided not to take Dell Foundation Services. And I won't take Dell Update again.

Now, I'm off to BING PCDEventLauncherTask & PCDoctorBackgroundMonitorTask again. I want to see something definitive about the former, especially.

I think I have it going right.  I found Dell Update, but it wasn't running.  Then I had to allow it to run.  Then it updated one file.  I don't know what that was yet.  I copied the Dell Folder to my external hard drive.  I also had to change the settings in the SupportAssist program.  I am going to go see if those files that were removed in JRT are back now, in the computer.  I also emailed Dell and asked them about those two files that were deleted.  I have spent hours on this.

Okay, I found them.  Whew, what a relief.  They are most likely Dell files then.

I'd love to know whether those two items return you after running a short diagnostic at the Dell site, right. Where were you seeing a "settings & update" thing?

IIRC, the Dell Update icon in the Taskbar had a down-arrow on it. I uninstalled mine because it never did work. The Dell site had greater versions of every driver except two. And those two were lesser versions, meaning it was Windows Update that supplied them. Do you see it at "R-Clk START, Programs & Features"?

Well that Support & Help Application program did not install for me.  Thanks for your thoughts though.  I will see if it will let me run a diagnostic from there.  I can run it from SupportAssist, but that is not the same.  The settings and update thing is missing, looks like a gear with a down arrow I think it was.  I will see what happens.  Thank you so much for trying to help me.
