You are welcome. OK. Keep us informed if anything else develops - for instance, if another Windows Driver Package slips in despite the setting you did. You disabled it on 3/1/16.

Also, if you want, post a picture (including the version) of the other stuff in your Programs & Features that also appears at your Dell Drivers & Downloads site. That would include any Intel, Realtek & Quickset64 drivers. If the site has anything that is a higher version, I will suspect that Dell Update isn't working for you, (as it never worked for me).

So far, as I said, every version you've got is equal to or greater than what I saw at your site - except for Dell Update, itself. And neither of us can download that one from our respective sites. Here was my previous comparison...


Dell Customer Connect:                      Not at site (my version is 1.3.28.0)

Dell Digital Delivery:         3.1.1002.0   << Site is lower

Dell Help & Support:        2.1.59.0       << Same at site (you took it earlier in this thread)

Dell Support Assist:                             Not at site (we've got same version)

Dell Support Assist Agent:                  Not at site (we've got same version)

Dell System Detect                              This one downloads when we click "Detect Drivers". I uninstall it afterwards.

Dell Update Application:  1.8.1114.0   << Site is higher. Also, v.1.7.1007.0 is there, under "Other versions".

Dell WLAN & Bluetooth Client Installation:  Not at site under that name. I think it's part of another item there.

So, the site has nothing greater than what you've got for those. That's a good sign.

But where did your version of Dell Digital Delivery, 3.1.1018.0, come from? I don't know. It's not at the site. Therefore, if Dell Update took it in - it must get them from elsewhere. Or, could the lower version have come in & later self-updated, stealthily? Or, maybe, it came in from Windows Update before you shut that off - but would it look like that in P&F, then? I just don't know! It's half the reason I uninstalled my own Dell Update!

I had already put in there to let me choose what to do.  So I guess I am good then for the time being.  Thank you for your help!

OK. I think those packages are what the following is supposed to prevent (as was said earlier in this thread)...

(1) R-Clk START, & select "System".

     Control Panel opens at the System page.

(2) Click "Advanced system settings" at left.

     System Properties opens at the Advanced tab.

(3) Click the "Hardware" tab.

(4) Click the "Device Installation Settings" button.

(5) Click into the "No, let me choose what to do" circle.


I've chosen for now to let that alone. You chose to stop them. Keep an eye on it, because I've read somewhere that it doesn't work.

Now I recall I messed with my Intel HD Graphics driver, myself. I probably am responsible for its disappearance. OK, thanks.

I do not have the Windows Driver Package with Dell as an publisher.

I have two by two other publishers that say Windows Driver Package instead.

Under Programs and Features I do have Product Registration by Dell. 

My Intel Graphics driver still shows in Programs and Features.

Looks like you've already got the latest version of the Intel Management Engine Interface driver: 11.0.0.1146. Because  If it isn't in your Programs & Features, it either came pre-installed on your computer or slipped in through Windows Update before you turned that off. (I haven't turned that off.) I guess both your site & mine will continue to detect that one, no matter we've already got it. We are fine, if the computer sleeps/wakes well & doesn't overheat.

So far, I've found nothing at your Dell site that is a greater version than you've got - except for Dell Update itself. But neither of us can download that one. And I still don't want it.

Post the rest of your Dell versions showing in Programs & Features, so we'll be able to see how well Dell Update is doing for you. That would be mainly Intel & Realtek, like mine...

That looks like it came in through Windows Update. I certainly didn't get it from the Dell site.

I could swear - & my notes say - Intel HD Graphics driver, v.10.18.15.4274, used to show up in my Programs & Features. I wonder whether that Windows Driver Package wiped it out. But it still shows in Device Manager...
