Disabling Windows Compatability Telemetry

Does anybody know how to stop the Windows Compatability Telemetry (CompatTelRunner.exe) from starting? It causes extremely high disk usage which results in large performance issues.

    Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Data Collection and Preview Builds. 

    This group policy folder structure does not exist on Windows 10.

    Are you on Windows 10 Pro, or the abomination known as Windows 10 Home?

    (I see it in Windows 10 Pro, but Windows 10 Home may not have it because that waste of space is defined as "Your computer, Microsoft's way.")

    Hey! Depending on Windows Version including Home or Pro, the name may vary, so get Allow Telemetry and it is your work for stopping the Microsoft Compatibility Telemetry High Disk Usage. 

    In some cases, Windows Home version does not have the facility to edit from Group Policy. In this case, you need to work with Registry Editor. How will you do it? 

    1. First Open RUN and type regedit and Press Enter.
    2. Now go to in this location: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Policies > Microsoft > Windows > DataCollection
    3. Right Click on Data Collection and create New - DWORD (32-bit) Value.
    4. Then you will get the Allow Telemetry.
    5. Double click on it and give the value 0.
    6. Restart the PC and you are done.

    Actually Windows 10 Pro Preview on four separate computers and they all take forever to start.  Reminds me of the Xerox Star Workstations and 6085.  Turn it on and press the button and the steaming coffee cup comes up on the monitor telling you to take a break while it boots up - sometimes 10 minutes or more.
