the irony is hilarious. They use telemetry to know about you, but when you ask them to listen to you, they ignore you.
Disabling Windows Compatability Telemetry
Does anybody know how to stop the Windows Compatability Telemetry (CompatTelRunner.exe) from starting? It causes extremely high disk usage which results in large performance issues.

Please ...
Real Microsoft employees rarely, if ever, visit here. If you want a Microsoft employee to see your suggestion you'll need to submit it via the Windows 10 Feedback app.
Which they'll then ignore and just do whatever the **** they want anyway.
(Note that I'm not disagreeing with you, your advice is spot on. Unfortunately with both Windows and Office that seems to be the reality these days. Their refusal to address this issue is just another example of it.)

Please remove Windows Compatibility Telemetry from my machine.
This is a huge problem on my machine. Microsoft Windows Compatibility Telemetry makes it impossible for games like World of Warships to load a new competitive game making entry into a game impossible. It is actually costing me money. So far none of the suggested ways of disabling the telemetry software has worked. The only work around is to notice that the game is not running and go to task manager to cancel the telemetry process. The game immediately loads after that.
Microsoft has a history of creating software that reads the disk or the registry that may seem innocuous in some cases but loading a lot of software on a disk causes the offending program to run for long periods of time and seriously impact the performance of the machine. Although this software is not meant as malware it certainly acts like malware.
