Disabling Windows Compatability Telemetry

My complaint exactly. As a matter of fact, last evening it seemed to be a tug-of-war between Microsoft and Norton when I fired up my laptop. Bah Humbug!

Windows 10, pretty much all the versions of Windows are a good OS.  The only problem with Windows is Microsoft's polices around how they treat their customers.  Consider, I boot up my laptop.  Am I doing this so Microsoft and all the other apps can rifle through my disk and registry looking for stuff?  No, I am doing it because I need my laptop to do work for me now, not 30 minutes from now.  NVIDIA looks for what games I have.  Microsoft telemetry is doing god knows what.  Everyone is using my disk except me.  I can't use it I have to wait.  This is an example of stupid.  The disk drive, especially in a laptop, is the most constrained resource of all.  It is not OK that it stays pegged 100% busy for 30 minutes every time I bring it out of sleep mode.  Cancelling Microsoft Telemetry always fixes the problem.

The older the PC, the more stuff on the disk, the longer it takes for all these rogue apps to rifle through my disk. This makes a perfectly good PC seem like it is aging badly when it really poorly written applications doing something that they shouldn't be doing.  How many people have bought a new laptop because of this? How many people thought their laptop is too old and too slow when it was perfectly fine?   Lawsuit anyone?

Every time I fix this problem an Microsoft update unfixes it.

Yes, yes I did all this too.  Just wait a while and Microsoft will turn it all back on during an update.
