Windows 10 Mail Attachments - Download Failed

I am synching my outlook.com email across my desktop, tablet and windows phone. Over the past 3 weeks, the Windows 10 Mail app on each device shows the majority of (but not all) attachments as "Download Failed".

The attachments failing include, jpeg, pdf, docx, xlsx etc.

I am able to download the attachments manually from outlook.com.

It is not antivirus or firewall related, as I am running different options on the different devices.

Are others experiencing this issue and are there any known solutions.

Happening to me too. Yet another coding fiasco that has turned a feature from the pioneering days on the Internets into a 21st century schizoid man freak show.  And Micro$oft wants me to believe this trash is reliable in the enterprise.

"Oh, I'm sorry, we'll have to reschedule the signing - I can't open the files the office emailed to me as I drove over here to print them out."

This is bad. Not buying it. Time to move on to mac or Linux.

Same issue here - brand new laptop running Windows 10 and using the Mail App synced to Gmail. Attachments take an age to download - if at all. They download fine using the web browser.

Made the move from a Mac and now regretting it. This is email. It is basic. Sort it Microsoft!! There have been enough people complaining by now surely!!!

Make sure you have updated and then turn your system off and on a few times. Ie not once then check all updates by going into the store and checking manually (don't rely on the automatically updating) that you have the updated mail and calendar. If you had to press the down arrow (download & install) then check Windows update again and turn the system off and back on again. This worked last time this happened to me. Also on a different topic the system needs to turn off after updates have automatically occurred to get the printer back online. It would be nice to get a message saying updates have occurred and that the system may need a restart. Especially when I have people who are not computer savvy using it.

6 months down the line and my email app is still not working , Microsoft help and advice a waste of time , ive spent ages talking to Microsoft technicians and they have taken control of my pc to try and resolve with no joy.

not surprised there is a helpful button to select but NO unhelpful option..... very very poor service
