Lumia 950XL 5ghz Wifi issue

So I have found when using my 5Ghz N network the phone will lose all WiFi networking.   On first use, it will connect up OK.  But let it sit and come back to it, it will have lost the WiFi network and the ability to see any other WiFi network with "no networks found".  Only a phone reboot will fix it until it happens again.

So far I've experienced it on my Linksys E8350 (supposed AC2400 and MIMO which the 950XL claims to support).  My Wifi router is set for Wireless A or N on 5Ghz, while it can do N, B, or G on 2.4

My workaround is to  only connect to the 2.4Ghz WiFi at this point. 

Anyone else experiencing complete WiFi radio failure like this?

    The dropped 5GHz wifi connection has reared its ugly head again after quite some time without the problem.  I thought it was fixed with the firmware update and hadn't had the problem since.  Today it happened again for some strange reason. Did the sim toggle but had to restart to get the 5GHz channel back.  Now to keep an eye on it and see if it drops constantly as it did before the firmware update.  I hope this was just a fluke.

    Not sure if it's me or real but since the AU both my phone and laptops seem slower on Wi-Fi.

    Can you try to connect other devices with the 5 ghz bandwidth? Let's see how it goes.

    Hey Guys

    After many hours of chat and email with Microsoft support , they tell me my issue with Wifi 5.0 GHz and VPN will " hopefully " be solved after a software or firmware update and the time frame is not clear yet .

    this is just hopeless .

    Yes, my iPhone 6S and my lenovo laptop connects to the 5GHz on the Fios router. No issues there. But Lumia doesn't even detect that SSID.
