Lumia 950XL 5ghz Wifi issue

So I have found when using my 5Ghz N network the phone will lose all WiFi networking.   On first use, it will connect up OK.  But let it sit and come back to it, it will have lost the WiFi network and the ability to see any other WiFi network with "no networks found".  Only a phone reboot will fix it until it happens again.

So far I've experienced it on my Linksys E8350 (supposed AC2400 and MIMO which the 950XL claims to support).  My Wifi router is set for Wireless A or N on 5Ghz, while it can do N, B, or G on 2.4

My workaround is to  only connect to the 2.4Ghz WiFi at this point. 

Anyone else experiencing complete WiFi radio failure like this?

    Hello,

    I had this problem before but last firmware update (version that has double tap to wake up) and last Windows 10 Mobile builds (Anniversary Update) resolved this problem.

    Before: after some minutes/hours WiFi 5GHz drops and no possibilities to reconnect because no network is found (auto or manual in Settings app). Only a reboot temporary resolve this.

    Now: sometimes (rarely) my 5GHz connection drops but it reconnect automatically few seconds after. No reboot or manual action are required.

    So, for me, this issue seems resolved with last firmware update and last Windows 10 Mobile updates. Probably bad network management in firmware and in Windows 10 because I had some similar issues in Desktop before Anniversary Update.

    I have installed the latest firmware and the anniversary update .

    from the first day i got the phone it did not see any 5.0 GHz Wi-Fi . After the firmware upgrade and software update nothing was fixed . i even did a hard reset and nothing changes .

    now after the update even my VPNs are not working . ( VPN connects but internet traffic is not sent through the VPN ) .

    Anyways , I will contact Microsoft tomorrow and see if they can help. 

    i will report back if any solution worked .

Release notes indicates some fixes about network management (WiFi 2.4/5GHz and Bluetooth). Probably bad network management in firmware and in Windows 10 because I had some similar issues in Desktop before Anniversary Update.

    Def Microsoft... It's probably going to require a different phone or a software download

    I have read all the discussion about this matter and i have not seen anyone who was able to solve this issue .

    i think it's firmware issue which needs to be addressed from Microsoft directly .
