Lumia 950XL 5ghz Wifi issue

So I have found when using my 5Ghz N network the phone will lose all WiFi networking.   On first use, it will connect up OK.  But let it sit and come back to it, it will have lost the WiFi network and the ability to see any other WiFi network with "no networks found".  Only a phone reboot will fix it until it happens again.

So far I've experienced it on my Linksys E8350 (supposed AC2400 and MIMO which the 950XL claims to support).  My Wifi router is set for Wireless A or N on 5Ghz, while it can do N, B, or G on 2.4

My workaround is to  only connect to the 2.4Ghz WiFi at this point. 

Anyone else experiencing complete WiFi radio failure like this?

    I think Scott meant: “There is no special/new firmware update (just) for Windows Insiders. Firmware updates are not part of the pre-release rings (Source).” Consequently, you three are all correct.

    Anyway, in this thread toggling flight-mode reactivated Wi-Fi in 5 GHz. That is because Windows 10 Mobile restricts the usable Wi-Fi channels depending on the country of your SIM. If the connection to the SIM is lost unintentionally, Windows 10 Mobile falls back to 2.4 GHz only, channels 1 to 11. Therefore, if the flight-mode helps in your situation, you are actually facing a different cause: The SIM gets lost internally. In that case, the app Field Medic should help to determine why this happens. However, I do not know how to use/read that app. Anyone?

    Anyway, in this thread toggling flight-mode did not help and the whole phone had to be restarted. What is your situation?

    No firmware is out for windows insiders. Working great for 8 hours

    Disagree: new firmware is out for Insiders as well. Use Windows Insider application for switch to 'Production' ring. After check for update and install the new firmware. After that, use Windows Insider application for reuse your prefered ring ;)

    I use this workaround for getting the new firmware yesterday. Early in March, Microsoft synchronize publishing of firmware updates for all Insiders ring without switch to the 'Production' ring - and at same time.

    Note: firmware not available in all markets, but in most markets. Jason released the list in its announcement here.

    I also confirm this issue appear resolve with last firmware released yesterday!

    I have a Lumia 950 XL Dual Sim and no issue since upgrade.

    Previously, I need to disable 5GHz band in my router to avoid losing WiFi signal.

    Edit: bad news, the problem is still there! It seems that stability is better but the problem is not fully resolved. See you at the next update, hoping that this is the right this time!

    GOOD NEWS everyone! Looks like the latest firmware update might have fixed the issue. After jumping onto Firmware Version 01078.00038.16025.39005 that was released yesterday (2/25/16) the issue appears to have subsided. I have been connected to My 5Ghz Network for over 20 hours now and still going strong. To get this firmware version just get the Windows Insider App and jump onto the Production ring, or if you're already on another ring just jump to production, update your phone, and then jump back to your original ring. I will switch my router back to AC and update the results but for now it appears that MSFT might have gotten around to fixing this very annoying bug!

    Can confirm that after the 5ghz networks disappear, toggling the SIM on and then off restores the connections. It is definitely looking like a firmware or driver bug.
