Location is greyed out, i cannot remove internet explorer 11 addon after virus removal

Remember this list of bad shortcuts? Let's see if we can find them this way...

(1) Open Explorer to "C:\Windows\WinSxS", & type ".Lnk" into the find box.

     All the shortcuts in the Component Store show up.

     I've got 102 of them - what about you?

(2)  Click "Date Modified" in the titlebar to sort it by date. The good ones will have a Date Modified of 7/10/15.

      Do all your bad ones have the same date of 9/18/15 that you posted for Event Viewer?

      Then something bad happened on that day. May as well post a picture of all the bad ones.

      (Scroll the Explorer window up/down with the scrollbar on the right.)

(3) Scroll the Explorer view right with the bottom scrollbar.

     Are all the bad shortcuts in the same subfolder? If so, post a picture.

I'm not sure what to do next. I don't know - maybe I'll try giving you my good ones somehow. I doubt this will make a difference to DISM, but it might clean up your SFC report. If they all have that same date, maybe we'll try to track down what happened.

I see nothing wrong with that result. It looks like your Component Store (WinSxS) self-maintenance still is functional (as far as cleanup), & Windows Update remains functional.

(1) Do the /RestoreHealth" once more... "DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth"

     Does it still say: "The source files could not be found" or any error?

     Then let's look at the DISM log...

(2) Open Explorer to "C:\Windows\Logs\DISM",

     & open "Dism.log". (D-Clk it or R-Clk it, Open).

(3) Hold "Ctrl" on the keyboard, & press "End".

     Gets to the bottom of Dism.log. Verify the dates at left are the date of run.

(4) "PgUp" on the keyboard will scroll up.

     Post the summary report (looks like the one you posted earlier from CBS.log),

     & post a sampling of the errors, especially those naming a file.

But really I'm just hopeful after a beer the thing will just magically have self-corrected. I do feel that - if we can get a /RestoreHealth to run - then SFC /Scannow will work too.

I have the 3 windows updates like the ones you posted installed on the 14th of Oct this year....

I believe SFC failed because it may need C:\Windows\WinSxS to do its repair, & that is corrupted. DISM (with Windows Update) should have repaired WinSxS - I don't know why it hasn't. This is really beyond my powers, but...

(1) R-Clk START, Programs & Features, View installed updates.

     Did you get the latest updates...?...

(2) R-Clk START, Command Prompt (admin), paste in the following...

     "DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /AnalyzeComponentStore"

     Here is what I get...

Let's just see what it says for you. But I doubt I'll be able to fix it - beyond suggesting a reset. Well, I can tell you how to make a system image first.
