Chkdsk cannot run because the volume is in use by another process

Hi,

Whenever I turn on my computer or even restarted it, and then tried to run the command 'chkdsk /r /f', I faced the error 'cannot lock current drive', although there are no other process hare running.

I had to schedule it to be running in the next restart.

When I scheduled it to be running in the next system restart , it was running well when it was restarted.

Threads merged.

Duplicate deleted.

I personally don't think you'd gain anything from a scan with UBCD. We can learn all about the HDD's health by looking at its SMART data. It may pass a diagnostic test with flying colors, and still have corrupted numerous files (in the past) and/or have many (remapped) bad sectors.

Looking at your HDD's SMART status, I can see that it had 104 (hex 68) bad sectors which have since been reallocated (see Reallocated Sectors Count). Since Current Pending Sector Count is 0, all suspected bad sectors have been successfully remapped, probably thanks to an earlier chkdsk /r scan.

Everything else looks good. I would suggest keeping an eye on the HDD every once in a while to make sure that it isn't developing more bad sectors (Current Pending Sector Count or Read Error Rate increasing from 0 in the far-right column).

In case you didn't know this, HDDs are quite sensitive to being jostled while in operation. Setting a laptop down too hard while it's on are is one the easiest ways to kill a laptop's HDD. If you need a laptop that can be thrown around, it would be a good idea to upgrade to a SSD, since they have no moving parts. This will also greatly speed up the laptop since the HDD is the biggest bottleneck in practically all laptops made nowadays.

Firstly: I would be saying Post code is not the same for postal/zip code. I know that postal/zip code is dedicated for a country/area. However, post code assocaited with the Post of Box. I.e. I can have a personal Post of Box(P.O.B), and its Post code(PC). However, I cannot have postal code, or zip code

Also, there is a mention about postal/zip code in ebay delivery address form. However, Yemen doesn't have postal/zip code.

I noticed that Postal/zip Code became unmandatory once Yemen was selected. It seems as though the system of site realized that Yemen doesn't have zip code.

Besides I really don't have post of Box(P.O.B), or otherwise I would type in its post code.

So you don't have a zip code, and eBay lets you leave it blank. However, unless you know all it takes is your name to get the package to you from your city's post office, I am quite sure that your village and house information/numbers will need to be supplied in the Street address field as well.

Secondly: Do you think I can add my mobile phone. I saw that writing '/' between the two phones(mobile phone , and landline) gave me an error.

Yes, while they won't allow multiple phone numbers in the "Phone" field, you can put it in the "Additional comments to the seller" section. You could even ask for him to call it so you could speak with him.

Thirdly: When an item added to the cart is not shipped to a country(Yemen, for instance), I see that 'contact seller' as stated below. However, when item is shipped to a country 'Yemen', I don't seee that . Thus, that why I was asked you how to contact the seller as additional setp even if that item was shipped to Yemen.

Did the method I linked work?

Fourthly: I don't think that calling Yemen internatially would begin with '011967' even from the US. It should be '00967'. I when I call a phone number in the US while in Yemen, I begin the number with 001...

For instanace, while I was in Saudi Arabia, when calling from a landline to a landline in Yemen, then I added '00967-5' before the phone number. So it would be '00967 -5-457849', where the first five digits are area(country) code, and one digit followed is state area, and then final six digits are phone number.

Whiel in Saudi Arabia, If I was calling from landline to a mobile phone, the no need to add '5', only add '00967- mobile phone number.

While in Saudi Arabai, If I was calling from a mobile phone to landline/mobile phone in Yemen, then no need to add '5', I would only added '00967- landline number OR mobile number.

The reverse is true, while in Yemen, when calling from landline to landline, I added '00966 - state code - phone number

Thus, I think the US is considered international like Saudi Arabia. Thus, you should add '00967-5-457849' to call on my landline number from your landlind or '00967457849' from you mobile phone.

Hmm. I am positive that someone calling from the US has to dial 011 to make a worldwide call. Otherwise the phone number is routed into the US phone system. Maybe your cellphone behaves differently since it wasn't registered in the US?

Fifthly: I noticed that Amazon prices are much lower than Ebay.com

Yeah, it would be convenient if you could buy from Amazon. Some individual sellers on Amazon may support shipping worldwide, but again, the prices will most likely be higher for them than for the main Prime seller. I don't know of any particular sources that ship to Yemen, so you're basically on your own.

**First:**I really tried your first link, and I really found Yemen is available, however, you think that they can know where exactly I live(my village, hometown, city, and so on) . Even the people living in the city, don't know where my house is located in the city since city also includes many villages. Whatever information the Yemeni Post needs has to be included in the addressing information for it to get printed on the label the seller will put on your package. I see that you underlined "house" and "village". If your village is named, and your house has a number, my best guess would be that you would put both of these in the street address field instead of "Main Street". This is really out of my area of expertise!

    Maybe we can figure this out together. Let me assume that your mail is dropped off at your house (or in your mailbox) just like here in the US. I will also assume that you know exactly how your address is normally written in your country, but you're just trying to figure out how to fit that information into eBay's US formatted addressing fields. In the US, an address is normally formatted this way:

    The second line in the address above is called the "Street address". Perhaps this is where you would put your house number and village name since you don't have a named street?

    The third line contains the city or town that is providing mail service to your area (you have a city), followed by a state (I believe the equivalent is "governorate" in your country), followed by a numerical code that helps the sorting computer validate your city (43222=a particular post office in the city of Columbus. One could technically just write "OH 43222" and the mail would get to the same place.) I don't know if your country uses this number or not, though eBay may require you to enter something.

You may have already done this, but to do a credit card purchase, you'll need to set up a PayPal account. PayPal will then charge your credit card and transfer the money to the seller. This is the main layer of buyer/seller protection offered by eBay (i.e. the seller doesn't get your credit card information). PayPal supports MasterCard, so you should be fine there.

    eBay does have a money back guarantee. I have read of many cases where a package was lost in the mail; and while I can't guarantee what would happen in your situation if the package were to get lost, eBay usually rules in the buyer's favor and the seller takes a loss. Really not fair for either party since it opens the door to the buyer lying and saying that they have not received the package when they in fact have, which drives retail prices up for everybody.

Finally:    You said it may very well be a good idea to contact the seller first and confirm that they can indeed ship to Yemen. How could I get their contacts(email).
