BSOD caused by SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION ntroskrnl.exe

Hello

I'm having a pickle of a problem and I'm at a loss how to fix it.

Firstly, please see the following:

This is the dump file attributed to my latest BSOD.

For the benefit of building a picture of what the problem is, I attach a further two dump files from BSOD's experienced yesterday and a few weeks back.

I experience these BSOD only when using FSX (Flight Simulator X) and not always in particularly 'stressy' types of environment (high density areas of scenery etc).  I have searched the internet tirelessly looking for a fix and have undertaken the recommendations I have found including MEMtests, Virus scans (using Windows Security Essentials), System checks via CMD & updated GPU drivers. None of which seem to lead to a problem area.

Bizarrely, these BSOD don't occur every time I use FSX but do seem to rear their ugly head after a prolonged period of computer usage. Is my computer getting tired and rebooting in order to have a rest? A bit tongue in cheek but potentially.

Anyway, I would really appreciate some help from the experts on this issue because I'm at a loss where to go and would love to find a 'cure'.

Many thanks in advance for anyone who can offer some guidance.

Dave Potter

    Hi Gerry,

Thanks for getting back to me.

There is no device in the device manager listed under that name. The only thing with PNP in it is under the monitors tab.  Do you have the specific name as it will appear in the Device Manager?

With regard to the HTTPERR, yes, I have SYSTEM, Dave (me) and Administrators. Should I remove myself?

    Regards

    Dave

    Please check Hidden Devices.

Type Device Manager in the Search box above the Start button and press ENTER. Are there any yellow question marks in Device Manager? If yes what is the Device Error code?

To see Hidden Devices (Non Plug and Play Drivers) you need to select View, Show Hidden Devices. It is necessary to do this every time you open Device Manager if you need to see them.

    No. It needs more research.

No, I got rid of one error which was relating to archlp, an Arcsoft driver which I have uninstalled and removed from the registry.

I'll wait for your comments on HTTPERR. I'll restart my computer now and upload a new event viewer in about 30 minutes time.

** Weirdly, when I tried to open administrative tools, Windows Explorer crashed twice. I'd guess these crashes will be shown in the logs but a tad unusual and not something I've experienced before. The problem must've rectified itself as it is now working as usual.**

    Regards

    Dave

    Gerry/XP Rocks!

Another BSOD today which prompted me to be brave and update my BIOS. After an hour or so of reading countless forums, I managed it successfully.

Please find all files needed to debug my BSOD. If you have any thoughts, please do not hesitate to let me know.

Disk 5 does not appear in your System Information file so it is likely to be a removable drive. Please connect the drive and post an updated System Information file..
