BSOD caused by SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION ntroskrnl.exe

Hello

I'm having a pickle of a problem and I'm at a loss how to fix it.

Firstly, please see the following:

This is the dump file attributed to my latest BSOD.

For the benefit of building a picture of what the problem is, I attach a further two dump files from BSOD's experienced yesterday and a few weeks back.

I experience these BSOD only when using FSX (Flight Simulator X) and not always in particularly 'stressy' types of environment (high density areas of scenery etc).  I have searched the internet tirelessly looking for a fix and have undertaken the recommendations I have found including MEMtests, Virus scans (using Windows Security Essentials), System checks via CMD & updated GPU drivers. None of which seem to lead to a problem area.

Bizarrely, these BSOD don't occur every time I use FSX but do seem to rear their ugly head after a prolonged period of computer usage. Is my computer getting tired and rebooting in order to have a rest? A bit tongue in cheek but potentially.

Anyway, I would really appreciate some help from the experts on this issue because I'm at a loss where to go and would love to find a 'cure'.

Many thanks in advance for anyone who can offer some guidance.

Dave Potter

    Update ATK0110 driver http://support.asus.com/Download.aspx?SLanguage=en&p=1&s=24&m=M4A77TD%20PRO&os=30&ft=14&f\_name=MB\_WIN7\_ATK.ZIP#MB\_WIN7\_ATK.ZIP

Download the driver and copy it to a folder on your desktop. Write down the path to the folder. If the driver has been zipped you will need to right click on the file and extract to your folder.

Next type Device Manager in the Search box above the Start button and press ENTER. Locate and right click on the device and select Properties. Click on the Driver tab and the Update Driver button. Click on “Browse my computer for driver” (do not select Search automatically for updated driver) and click the Browse button. Type in the Search box the file path to your folder and click on Next. The system should find the driver in your folder and update. If it does not find the driver recheck that the driver is not zipped.

Please run Driver Verifier –Instructions in link below:

    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki/windows\_other-system/driver-verifier-tracking-down-a-mis-behaving/f5cb4faf-556b-4b6d-95b3-c48669e4c983

Please upload any resulting dump files to your One Drive and post a link as they occur.

Open Windows Explorer (keyboard shortcut WIN+E) and navigate to C>Windows>System32>LogFiles>HTTP. Right click on the httperr1.log and click the Security tab. What Group or user names are listed?

My apologies in the delay in my response, I didn't get the usual email notification advising me of your reply.

I have checked the driver and Windows tells me I have the most up to date version.

Driver verifier - I will run tomorrow evening, but when I did so before, I never got a BSOD, my computer would just run slowly and eventually auto-restart.

    The httperr1.log shows the following people: 1/SYSTEM 2/Dave (Daves/Dave) 3/ Administrators (Daves/ Administrators).

I had another BSOD today (after an intense period of use for around 8 hours), with a brand new error code. Dump file attached for your perusal.

Did you download and install all fsx service packs?

Do these crashes only occur when fsx is running?

Does this comment have relevance to your situation:

First, I rolled the overclock back from 4.6 to 4.2 and I have not experienced anymore BSODs so I guess it was the overclock that was causing the BSODs.

    XP Rocks!,

Thanks for the decryption of the Dump file. Yes I run both acceleration packs but I noticed that the cause was a module file of the aircraft I was running. I checked my config folder and found duplicate entries from previously installed software so removed them and reset it. Hopefully that should fix that problem.
