BSOD caused by SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION ntroskrnl.exe

Hello

I'm having a pickle of a problem and I'm at a loss how to fix it.

Firstly, please see the following:

This is the dump file attributed to my latest BSOD.

For the benefit of building a picture of what the problem is, I attach a further two dump files from BSOD's experienced yesterday and a few weeks back.

I experience these BSOD only when using FSX (Flight Simulator X) and not always in particularly 'stressy' types of environment (high density areas of scenery etc).  I have searched the internet tirelessly looking for a fix and have undertaken the recommendations I have found including MEMtests, Virus scans (using Windows Security Essentials), System checks via CMD & updated GPU drivers. None of which seem to lead to a problem area.

Bizarrely, these BSOD don't occur every time I use FSX but do seem to rear their ugly head after a prolonged period of computer usage. Is my computer getting tired and rebooting in order to have a rest? A bit tongue in cheek but potentially.

Anyway, I would really appreciate some help from the experts on this issue because I'm at a loss where to go and would love to find a 'cure'.

    Gerry,

    Just a quick update. I managed some successful simming today with no errors on closing FSX so I think I fixed the problem software (relating to modules).  Please see an up to date Event Log and I enclose the System Information file as well. If you have any comments with anything you see, I'm happy to continue to take your advice.

    XP Rocks!

    Thanks for your advice.  The reason for me searching for an alternative guide was because in truth, I couldn't make head nor tail of what Asus were telling me to do in their instructions.  They don't explain what CD I need to insert, what specific files I need to have on my USB, I found their guidance pretty poor to someone who has never worked with the BIOS before.

    I'll revist their video tutorial again but if my past experience is anything to do by, I fear I won't have the confidence to give it a go any time soon as much as I do want to.

    I'm pretty sure I know the cause and will do some testing later. FSX is something I have knowledge on so it'll be easier for me to crack than the things you've been kind enough to help me with that I had no clue on.

    I'll post my findings.

    No I haven't. I'm a little apprehensive to do this as I know if you make a mistake, you run the risk of destroying your machine.

    I have found the following guide which describes in a dummy way how to update using a USB stick. It quotes it is for Windows Millenium but was linked from a Windows 7 guide.  Will the files it provides and the guide work for Windows 7?

    Please, do not resort to taking advice about updating your BIOS, from parties other than your Motherboard/system maker. 

    I have linked you to two methods to update, both provided by ASUS

    BIOS Disclaimer

    Updating BIOS should only be done if necessary (to solve a compatibility problem, for example). It can be a complicated process, and if an error occurs, your computer could be rendered inoperable. Be sure to follow the manufacturer's instructions exactly.
