Age of Mythology - Windows 10
I recently purchased a custom built pc packed with windows 8.1 which I upgraded to Windows 10.
I installed Age of Mythology yesterday and when I try to run the game nothing happens. I have tried all compatibility suggestions and I get the same result.
I also have this same problem with black and white 2.
I have a NVIDIA Geforce gtx 980 graphics card installed in my pc.
Can you provide any suggestions please.
Thank you.

2018-01-16T04:41:38+00:00 Dang it...got all excited but still nothing.
I followed the guide step by step but still nothing. I have the CD version of AoM and when I click the desktop shortcut, a message pops up saying "would you like to allow this app to make changes to your system?", at which point I click "yes", and nothing happens.
Argh

2018-01-20T04:28:18+00:00 I just came across an old copy of AOM, still had the CD key on the back. Well I ran into the same troubles as everyone else and looked at the forums. Looks like this has been an issue for a while.
Option 1 to fix: I don't like this option due to the potential security issues that are inherent in secdrv.sys -
You can download the file, and use the digital override signing tool to "self-sign" it. ( The info is out there if you want to do this, just google it, but there are security issues. )
Option 2: Ok this fix is pretty easy, and a remnant of how games were pirated in the old days. Now it is just a good way to fix these issues.
Here we go:-
- Install the game
- Go to the installation folder ("C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Age of Mythology) and run the file "autopatcher.exe" ( This will bring the game up to the final version.
- Download this file and extract ( It is a fixed.exe which bypasses the security and need for a CD to play http://www.gameburnworld.com/dl/dl.php?file=AgeOfMythologyv1.10FixedexeEng.rar
- Copy the aom.exe from the downloaded file and replace the one in the game directory.
- Done!
- Start the game, go to options and change the resolution.
- Enjoy :)

2018-01-20T05:54:04+00:00 Tried this and here's the error message:
aom.exe - System Error
The code execution cannot proceed because rockalldll.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem.

2018-01-20T06:43:00+00:00 Hmmm, worked beautifully for me,
here is the link to ALL the fixed exe's and NO CD's for Age of Myth
http://www.gameburnworld.com/gp/gamefixes/ageofmythology.shtml
Perhaps uninstall & reinstall and then DON'T patch as I suggested, instead use the early version fixed .exe instead, I only linked the final one as after I updated in worked on my win 10 rig.
One of these should work for you if you catch match the game version, you may have to try them all to see which one works.
Cheers,
