Age of Mythology - Windows 10
I recently purchased a custom built pc packed with windows 8.1 which I upgraded to Windows 10.
I installed Age of Mythology yesterday and when I try to run the game nothing happens. I have tried all compatibility suggestions and I get the same result.
I also have this same problem with black and white 2.
I have a NVIDIA Geforce gtx 980 graphics card installed in my pc.
Can you provide any suggestions please.
Thank you.

2016-11-20T20:16:57+00:00 That's the thing. I have laptop and a costum build pc which both run on windows 10 and AOM works on my pc but not on my laptop. Every time I try to run it, it starts up plays the video and then goes black. So i don't think this problem is unfixable.

2016-08-25T15:28:08+00:00 For those with same version, I got it to work. (Windows 10 64-bit)
It's the version with one CD with AOM and Titans Expansion.
I almost didn't try with the depressing mood here lol.
Process: (any of these steps could be unnecessary, I include them all)
Enabled DirectPlay (in Windows 10)
Put CD in, opened it to find AOMInstaller.
opened properties of AOMInstaller and put in in Win XP SP2 compatibility. Checked run as Admin box. (16 bit colors too, but the game allowed without)
Ran the installer. No problems.
Did not try the shortcut on desktop.
Found the aom application file in Program Files (x86)
properties...XP service pack 2 compatibility, run as admin
run. success. conquest.
I don't know if the disk security was not included on this version. But maybe it will help someone. My computer was recently wiped because of the anniversary update MBR FUBAR catastrophe.

2016-08-01T03:24:38+00:00 my few cents:
AOM tale of dragon expansion works no problem on win10
you can get it from pirate bay in worst case
"tale of dragon" is steam distribution and don't use disk security.
and if you want to play over lan with your friends you can use Hamachi server (check youtube for instructions)
p.s.
in one of computers it was complaining about missing c++ redistributables, and installing different c++ packages did not help.
so on that particular computer i've installed visual studio Code and it start working right away.
good luck
