The site has been ruined; the reliability ratings were great and held extremely useful information...
Why has it gone, and where can I find AIS data on vehicles now?
I'm quite upset, as this was literally the only source I know of such valuable data.
It's wrong to remove such a unique source of information from the internet this way. This is definitely a reckless corporate maneuver, akin to wiping out an entire rare species. I appreciate the service, but profits should never obstruct peoples access to knowledge. This alone is more valuable than any profit, and I'm well aware of the costs and effort required in obtaining AIS data. Again - I appreciate the service but this gross incompetence is truly infuriating sometimes.

It must be difficult when things do not work as expected. I would suggest you to follow these steps to report an issue regarding MSN Auto Reliability.
a. Go to your MyMSN page
b. Click the Feedback link at the lower right
c. Report the issue to Support
d. MSN Support will look into the issue.

Hello MSN Auto users,
The new MSN Auto pages now offer the following options:
• Car Finder – this was called Decision Guide in previous release – this allows the user to search for cars by attributes.
• VIP / Vehicle Information Pages – these are the detailed pages about a particular car.
• Car Compare – these allow users to do side by side comparisons of cars.
They are currently only supporting new cars. The MSN team plans on adding back used cars soon. I will update this thread as soon as I have the information/timeframe.
For those of you who wish to research on new vehicles, please follow the steps below:
If you want to compare vehicles, simply check the ADD TO COMPARE box for all vehicles you are interested in. The ADD TO COMPARE boxes will turn to COMPARE. Just click on any of them to see the results.
You will be able to see side-by-side results:
You may also select data to compare such as Compare Summary, Compare Engine, Compare Safety, Compare Interior and Compare Exterior:

The MSN Autos webpage is now useless. No reviews, no reliability ratings. It was a draw for many users, and you killed it. I won't use the new site - it has far less information, and no reviews from actual users.
This is an epic fail of a site - makes me wonder if someone's lawyers got to you :(
I agree. This was the best site for data hands down. I'm a numbers guy and loved being able to see what year the horsepower increased or if a manual transmission was available that year and on what trim levels. Please bring it back!!!!!
This NEW site is a dumbed down for the ADD set! You had a long time loyal viewer. Now I have no use for this this pretty "useless site".
All those wonderful user reviews of all models dating back to early 90's it helped me get my first new card. IT also helped my daughter buy a reliable car! I am not sure how MICROSLOTH sees this as progress! Why don't you just admit you sacked all the hard working folks who updated the old site. Disgraceful!
I am looking to purchase another used car. I have no use for the new msn autos site. All that info is available. The old site had info on which year a vehicle started using new options like back up cam, mp3, on and on. Reliability ratings were posted for each year and reviews on vehicles that owners had owned for years, not just somebody that just drove it off the lot. I have relied on the old site for years. The old site was very valuable! $$
The msn auto site was the best free source of info until it was ruined. The last time that i used MSN auto was in 2013. At that time i also bought a subscription to consumer reports. MSN auto was more visually appealing, but all in all both sites had very similar info, so I quickly canceled my subscription. Now that msn auto is gone, a paid subscription to consumer reports is the only option.
