"Error 1" when installing "Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework

Hello,

I see a C:\Windows\System32\catroot and wondered if this is about WU as well, sicne you had me rename catroot2 near the start of this thread? 

I am now receving "Error 1" when installing "Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5, 4.5.1 and 4.5.2 on Windows 7, Vista, Server 2008, Server 2008 R2 x64 (KB3037581)"

Any ideas?

    I just ran sfc /scannow and then did the findstr mentioned earlier in this thread, then posted sfcdetails.txt to my onedrive - it is still showing uncorrectable files.  The link is:

    The issue I was having with IE not being able to download anything has been fixed by "Farbar Recovery Scan Tool"

    Who recommended running "Farbar Recovery Scan Tool?"

    How have you determined that the computer is no longer infected?

    Have you posted in bleepingcomputer.com forum (or any other forums) for assistance?

    I just ran sfc /scannow and then did the findstr mentioned earlier in this thread...

    Why did you run the System File Checker tool again?

    I ran FRST as it was recommended in another thread on answers.microsoft.com - I think in the IE section.

    I use MSE with full updates, MBAM Free with all updates, and recent scans using both (full scan for MSIE, default for MBAM) said there was no viruses or malware.

    No - just posted here on answers.microsoft.com

    Because when I went back to reread this thread from the beginning - it became appearent that the earlier sfc results were not handled.  And I knew to get assistance it would be best to do the same "sfc /scannow" and the findstr mentioned earlier.

    I think you need to post in a Malware Removal forum & get an expert's opinion on things. [If the computer was infected when you installed MSE, chances are MSE didn't install properly & isn't working properly. MBAM cannot detect everything, 24/7 - that's why there are multiple Definitions updates everyday.]

    My computer [may be] infected! What do I do now?

    Note: I'm NOT saying the computer is infected, only that it mightbe. Better safe than sorry.

    It was someone else's thread. 

    I have the malware removed - even uninstalled the MSE and reinstalled then ran a full scan. Nothing found. Even did the same thing with MBAM.

    ***What concerns me now is the bad results in the "sfc /scannow" results - which I had posted to my Onedrive and mentioned the link earlier...
