Hi,

Thank you for posting on Microsoft Community. I understand the inconvenience you are facing. I apologies for the delay in reply. I will certainly help you with this.

This error may happen due to system file corruption or Visual C++ redistributable package corruption. I suggest you to follow the below given methods:

Method 1:

Kindly download and install Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable Packagefrom below given link and check if it helps:

Visual C++ Redistributable Packages for Visual Studio 2013

http://www.microsoft.com/en-in/download/details.aspx?id=40784

Method 2:

I suggest you to run System file checker. System File checker (SFC) scan is done to check if there are any corrupted system files that could be causing this issue. Kindly follow the below given steps:

  • Press Windows key + X, select Command prompt (Admin) to bring up elevated Command prompt.
  • In Command prompt type sfc/scannow and press enter.
  • Restart the computer.

If no corrupted system files were found in the previous state, then I suggest you to try the following steps:

  • Open command prompt by pressing Windows key + X and selecting “Command prompt admin”.
  • In command prompt, type the following commands and press Enter after each command:

                DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth

DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

  • Close the command prompt and restart the PC and check if it works.

Hope this information helps. Please post back with the results, we will be glad to assist you further.

Thank you.

The problem was corrupted Google Chrome, my default browser.  I deleted the program and installed a new one.  It works now.

Hi , I have the problem " side-by-side configuration is incorrect " from long time ago . it appears with most of the applications I try to open , like ( Microsoft office , mozilla Firefox , IDM , …) and I can't install and run any new application .

I tried everything to solve that , even the method of

    DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth

    DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

it didn't solve my problem . showing that a file was corrupted and system couldn't solve it . for online repair see the log...… , and for offline repair see the log...…. .

please help me . I am disappointed ..

I'm sorry, maybe you are confused so let me help you by explaining in simple language ... I was not looking to offer help other than to ask Microsoft to explain their solution in more detail and making it easier to follow.  Still confused?

David at this point I am only to think that Microsoft can't fix anything. All they can do is break stuff. I guess that's why they have to keep changing their software. They can't fix it so they just keep reinventing the wheel. I bet if you walked into one of their labs they would look like blind rats running around in circles.
