How To Remove Windows 10 Upgrade from Windows Update

I don't want to upgrade to Win 10 (from Win7) just yet but when I run Windows Update,  the Windows 10 upgrade starts. I can see there are many Win7 updates waiting too but cancelling the Win10 upgrade means no other updates get installed.  I've uninstalled KB2990214 and have rerun Windows Update (as suggested in other threads) but starting Windows Update still starts the upgrade. 

Is there any way to totally remove the Win10 upgrade so I can do the rest of the Win7 updates?  When I look at updates I've hidden,  I can see "Upgrade to Windows 10 Home" and it's not selected.  Thanks in advance!

    Windows 10 DOWNLOAD is a menace and IT wont GO AWAY!

    I have tried all of the above and still it tries to install WIN 10 even thou it is NOT listed!

    In the Windows Update list!

    Frustrated! as I downloaded WIN 10 before and I had LOTS OF PROBLEMS and I am going to wait.

    Until THEY FIX IT, maybe 2 YEARS!

    One last comment:

    If you were my client, I would:

    1. Admonish you for not acting more quickly when you saw the white flag
    2. Tell you that if you did not have good backup of your data, you may have to suffer the consequences
    3. Bring your computer to my desk and re-install Windows 7
    4. I would also suggest to you that Windows 10 is very unlikely to be something that you will want to have.  Don't experiment with it.  Go find it in someone else's computer like a store and check it out.  Then if you still want it, wait until the year is up before even considering it baked enough to want to have.

    The specific file is named:  Temporary Installation file.  The only other large file there should be the offer to compact Windows Update files.

    I have done all the above till I got to 6.  what is the 2nd step for the SYSTEM?  That is what I don't understand

    If I could get passed that then perhaps I could find the Win10 downloaded file but there could be other 4 to 8 Gigabytes. 

    When I try to do a windows up date   This is where I am stuck and even through I uncheck downloads and try to install others that are checked the darn thing says Installing Windows 10 and I have to stop the install.

    My best GUESS is that in your case the install had already started.  I counsel my clients to let me know the moment that ugly damn flag shows up.
