BitLocker locked my external harddrive by itself?!

Hi,

Today I connected my external harddrive to my PC and it popped-up this message saying the drive is locked by bitlocker.

This has never happend before on the same PC.

I had no clue wat bitlocker was, so I looked it up and I start to believe that I will never be able to acces my drive again because:

I have no recovery key or password because I have never been in contact with bitlocker in my life untill now.

I searched on every drive inside and outside my PC for it and my microsoft account tells me I have 0 keys stored. 

So, what can I do? This disk contains data I need, so formatting is not an option.

    The same thing happened to me.  I never even knew there was such a thing as bitlocker, let alone how to lock it.  Now my external hard drive with all my music, photos backed up is unusable.  I am extremely upset about this.

    As I explained I never used bit-locker in the first place. This program is activated by itself.

    Through the Manage-bde I could get the .bek filename but this file is not located anywhere on my computer

    Is there anything else I  can do.

    Thank you for the reply.

    Sorry to hear about the inconvenience.

    By default Bit locker will not  lock any drives unless it is locked by user.

    If you still have any issues with Bit locker please do let us know and thank you for sharing this information.

    Now bitlock locked a second drive . I never knew about this program so yes it acts like a virus it is locking a drive by itself. I searched on the internet and as you say there is no way to recover the data without a password. 

    I can get an external Key through the bde command.

    Would this help to find the password. 

    I'm really devasted with this issue .

    There is no way to recover the data and now another drive is locked when the computer shutted down accidentaly.

    I can get an external key through the bde command.

    Can I recover my data through the external key?
