Yesterday my SFC /Scannow command, run from Powershell Admin found corrupt files it was unable to fix. I expected The Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /Restorehealth command to take care of it. Instead it reported "error 0x800f0906" and said it lacked the files to repair the problem.
I looked up error 0x800f0906 in a Dism command. It suggested a repair that started and stopped services, a
net stop wuauserv
cd %systemroot%\SoftwareDistribution
ren Download Download.old
net start wuauserv
net stop bits
net start bits
net stop cryptsvc
cd %systemroot%\system32
ren catroot2 catroot2old
net start cryptsvc
It also suggested Windows Update was malfunctioning and that I should fix it from The Troubleshooting screen. I did, and SFC /Scannow came up clean and Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth reported error code 0x800f081f instead.
I then used The Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup and The Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup /ResetBase Commands. I then used The Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth Command and it reported "No component store corruption detected." I thought I was in the clear, but Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth keeps reporting it found and repaired files and The Troubleshooter keeps reporting it's fixed problems in Windows Update. Probably not the biggest deal in the Windows world but a little unsettling.

- Does ASC's Rescue Center contain backups of ALL the changes it's ever made to the computer (not just changes made in the past 3 or 6 months)?
- What Definitions version is currently displayed in Defender's Update tab?
When I installed Iobit's [Advanced SystemCare] Ultimate (Ver. 8.1) I started getting messages that I have [to turn on Windows Defender manually] [SOURCE]
- Do you still have to enable Windows Defender (and or the Windows Firewall) manually?

2015-06-17T18:13:04+00:00 sounds like you have a virus. run Microsoft malware, , it is a free program. If you still have the problem I strongly recommend Kaspersky for the deepest virus discovery. If you can't solve the virus issue I would do a PC refresh.

Well,
Run SFC /scannow again in an usual not in a safe mode.
If "SFC" will find corrupted files, just after the scanning follow these steps:
- Press "Windows" + "R" keys.
- Type CMD and press the "OK" button.
- Type Powershell in the CMD.exe window, then press the "Enter" key.
- Type the line below. This is the single line. Type exactly! You may simply copy the entire line and then paste it onto "Windows PowerShell" window as the inputline.

- Press the "Enter" key.
- Close the window.
- Go to your desktop, right-click on the desktop and press "update" in the context menu.
- Find the "checklog-to-community-forum" file, open it.
- If that file is not empty, copy the text and print it here in your message.
