KB3038314 which was recently deployed by Windows update refuses to install.  This is a 64 bit Win 7 Pro machine running IE 11.  I've tried both the Windows Update web install method and downloading the update separately and both methods fail.  The update is part of MS15-032 released on April 14 (Patch Tuesday).  Has anyone else experienced this issue and found a solution?  After the update fails there is a failure code of 80092004 displayed and a message that says "Windows Update encountered an unknown error.  I have tried the Microsoft Fixit Tool and uninstalling IE 11 and reinstalling.  Any advice would be much appreciated.  Thanks!

I have just talked to someone at Microsoft Tech support and directed them to this thread, so he was like wow this is a bigger issue and told me he is going to do some checking into this and let me know later today what is going on.

Last time I talked to them they tried telling me I needed to pay someone for support to fix the issue, cause it is a deeper issue.

So maybe tonight I will learn more. Cause I have had people from Microsoft doing remote access to try fix the issue and have tried everything possible and couldn't get the issue fix and they directed or escalated the issue to their tier 2 support.

I have tried getting the update to install to no avail!

Attempt was conducted on numerous networks hardwired and wireless networks. My machine seems to be stuck in a loop with this update!

Thanks DeeVious -- this issue has wasted hours of my time and after 11 days, I had decided to wait for a fix having tried all variations of fixes here unsuccessfully.

Hoping somewhere in Microsoft this might be being fixed sooner rather than later.

Let us know what they say.
