KB3038314 Fails to Install get the error 80092004.

KB3038314 which was recently deployed by Windows update refuses to install. This is a 64 bit Win 7 Pro machine running IE 11. I've tried both the Windows Update web install method and downloading the update separately and both methods fail. The update is part of MS15-032 released on April 14 (Patch Tuesday). Has anyone else experienced this issue and found a solution? After the update fails there is a failure code of 80092004 displayed and a message that says "Windows Update encountered an unknown error. I have tried the Microsoft Fixit Tool and uninstalling IE 11 and reinstalling. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!

2015-04-27T15:31:12+00:00 I experienced the exact same issue during a clean build of a machine. Like other posts I tried to hide the update but it kept coming back. In the end this is what I did to resolve:
- Download the offline installer for IE 11 and save to desktop - http://windows.microsoft.com/en-ca/internet-explorer/ie-11-worldwide-languages
- Control Panel > Programs and Features. Select 'View Installed Updates'
- Select Internet Explorer 11 and 'Uninstall'. Reboot
- Open IE 8 and install any Search Provider you need in addition to Bing. As the article JCP21 posted, you are unable to install any Search Providers listed by Microsoft after installing KB3038314
- Run Windows Updates and select only KB3038314 for IE 8. Reboot
- Control Panel > Windows Updates > View Update Histrory and verify KB3038314 is listed
- Install IE 11 from the installer you downloaded in step 1. Reboot
- Open IE 11 Help > About and you should see 'Update Versions: 11.0.18 (KB3038314)' is displayed
- Run Windows Updates again to get any additional missing patches
This might not be ideal, but it worked for me and hopefully it will for others.

BOOM!
Done!

People say that you are good, when KB3038314 appears in the IE11 info, claiming that the update is installed during installation, causing a "duplicate error" later. However, I checked the windows update log during the IE11 installation. The log says that the IE11 installation bundles 15 updates. Checking the kb numbers I saw that KB3038314 was not part of them. IE11 in the windows update window has april 2014 as the release date and since KB3038314 is replaced on a monthly bases, I'm quite sceptical that people with KB3038314 in the about info really have the latest (april) update.

2015-04-27T16:25:39+00:00 In my case when i did a fresh install i got the same issue but when i checked in list of installed updates i found that particluar update is installed already and issue is that it only shows to install it again .
