KB3038314 Fails to Install get the error 80092004.

Check the version of IE 11.  Help>About Internet Explorer>Update versions. If it says kb3038314 after the version number, it should be up to date....

I'm also getting this error, but on two Windows 2008 R2 SP1 servers and have found no resolution yet. 

Same here. Fresh install of Server 2008 R2. Cannot install.

KB3038314 which was recently deployed by Windows update refuses to install.  This is a 64 bit Win 7 Pro machine running IE 11.  I've tried both the Windows Update web install method and downloading the update separately and both methods fail.  The update is part of MS15-032 released on April 14 (Patch Tuesday).  Has anyone else experienced this issue and found a solution?  After the update fails there is a failure code of 80092004 displayed and a message that says "Windows Update encountered an unknown error.  I have tried the Microsoft Fixit Tool and uninstalling IE 11 and reinstalling.  Any advice would be much appreciated.  Thanks!

I received two updates this morning, and it looks as though these superceded the original patch KB3038314. The new updates are KB3032359 and KB2976627.

Interesting. It does say that, but the patch is still in my update list every time I check for updates.

The issue is that MS15-32 (KB3038314) patch/Windows Update is not properly detecting versions of IE11 that already have the fix incorporated. Microsoft needs to fix the update, or Windows Update to properly detect when the individual patch is needed.
